Tired of bad reception?

Is bad reception getting you down? Are you tired of being shown those vague reception maps when you sign up for a new cell phone, especially when you find out a week later that they are definitely not accurate? Are you tired of asking your cell phone representative whether you will be able to get coverage at your parents house, only to find out that you have to stand at the top of the stairs to get two bars?

It is true… carriers do not always tell us where and where we will not get coverage, and when they do, they are not always right. But maybe it is not because they are trying to mislead us (though, in some cases, maybe they are!!!)… giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they do not know? So, how do you know which phone to buy? With most carriers having unexpected dead zones and with most phone contracts a hassle to cancel, what can a person do?

Well, there are a lot of websites popping up nowadays that help with this exact thing. You can utilize Google maps, and find out exactly where the cell phone towers are for particular providers! This can usually give you a good idea of where you will be getting good reception, and an even better idea of where the reception might be spotty. For example, if  you locate a tower in your local neighborhood, you can be assured that you will be getting full bars from home. But if you find out that the nearest tower to your workplace is hundreds of miles away, it might be time to look for a different option! You may start by seeing what towers are near the places you frequent, and go from there when looking for a cell phone provider.
